Emergency management is the managerial function charged with creating the framework within which communities reduce vulnerability to hazards and cope with disasters.

The Charlton County Emergency Management Agency's mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a community we work together to build, sustain and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from and mitigate all hazards.

The goal of the Charlton County EMA is to educate the citizens of Charlton County about their ongoing role in preparing for emergencies through education, community outreach, and training. Through creating an increased emphasis on disaster preparedness, the Charlton County EMA looks forward to reinforcing interdepartmental communications and cooperation throughout our county.
